Eiji is an extremely emotional person and prone to overreacting, which often gets him into trouble. He turns even small things into a huge deal, which he will then rant about for as long as it takes until he's willing to calm down and catch his breath. But he's also a happy-go-lucky type of boy who isn't often upset. This can create its own problems, however... Eiji is anything but sensitive to the feelings of others and often takes a joke too far, which in one case resulted in a turn of events that was titled "Seigaku's Biggest Crisis." As generally happy as Eiji is, he is not above having a meltdown, and often gets very distressed when his abilities reach their limit in a tennis match. But this does not undermine his generally carefree way of doing things. He dreams big and often on the spur of the moment. Eiji rarely takes anything seriously, but when he does, it become that much more significant. He really is dedicated to tennis and has been for three years, the longest commitment he has ever made for anything. He also seems to usually care very little what other people think about him and is definitely more than a bit eccentric. He is very openly affectionate toward his friends, extremely physical and tends to cling very closely to them, be it Oishi, Ryoma or Fuji. As the months pass by, Eiji grows mentally and becomes aware of his own shortcomings and tries to work really hard to overcome them, mostly to prove himself to himself than anything else. History One can't possibly say that Eiji comes from a normal household, but as wild and crowded as his family is, his childhood was a happy, carefree one. Maybe too much so, since he's not grown used to facing problems and he's spoiled rotten, not really capable of taking any responsibilities. He became involved in tennis during his first year of Junior High, drawn to the tennis club mostly because of the appeal the Regual jersey had on him. He soon found that he loved the sport itself and threw himself into it with full energy, aiming to be the best doubles player in Japan.
